HEAT WAVE
High heat device
The weather forecast predicts particularly high temperatures this weekend. To ensure everyone's safety, we ask that you read the following recommendations and follow them throughout your race.
Stay hydrated and adjust your effort
To limit the risk of hyperthermia, remember to hydrate regularly even before you feel thirsty, to eat properly and to adapt your pace to the conditions.
Take advantage of every water point to drink and refresh yourself, soak your cap, wet the back of your neck. Never leave an aid station without water.
⚠️ The minimum amount of water you must carry is now 2 liters for all routes. Please check your equipment before starting. ⚠️
Learn to recognize the warning signs
During the race, pay close attention to your condition. If you experience headaches, dizziness, nausea, chills, severe cramps, unusual fatigue, or a feeling of confusion, these may be the first signs of hyperthermia.
In this case, slow down immediately, get into the shade if possible, cool down, and inform a volunteer or member of the organization. Don't wait for the symptoms to worsen.
Be careful with anti-inflammatory drugs.
We also ask you to be vigilant with anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, ketoprofen, naproxen, etc.): they are strongly discouraged as a preventative measure before a race, as well as during exercise.
In hot conditions, dehydration, or during prolonged exertion, they increase the risk of kidney and digestive complications and can contribute to certain serious medical conditions. After the race, their use should not be routine and should remain supervised by a healthcare professional if necessary. In case of pain or any health problem, seek advice from the event's medical team or your doctor.
Let's run safely
Our goal is for everyone to be able to fully enjoy this day and cross the finish line in the best possible conditions.
Take care of yourself, be attentive to other runners and never hesitate to ask for help from volunteers or medical teams if necessary.
Thank you for your vigilance and have a great race everyone!
